Dr. Erin Macrae

Breast Cancer Expert

Dr. Erin Macrae graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Honors Program at the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. She received her medical doctorate from Case Western Reserve University where she graduated Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Macrae completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania followed by a Hematology and Oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Macrae was a faculty member in the Division of Medical Oncology at the Ohio State University where she published numerous research articles on breast cancer and novel cancer therapies.

Dr. Macrae's clinical and scientific expertise is in the management of breast cancer. Recipient of multiple awards, she received a Career Development Award by the American Society of Clinical Oncology and served on the national guidelines panel for endocrine therapy for hormone-receptor positive metastatic breast cancer. She joined Columbus Oncology and Hematology Associates in 2015 where she currently cares for patients.

In the next phase of her career, Dr. Macrae collaborated with Leveling Health on How Breast Cancer Is Like a Dandelion and the subsequent breast cancer booklet series, handouts, and online articles.

Focusing on patient education, it is her hope that this series will elevate patient care by enhancing patient knowledge and encouraging a deeper doctor-patient relationship.

Dr. Macrae lives in Columbus, OH with her husband and three children.
